Narratives story

Dad built an amazing house and then there was a building competition and he won the prize for 2011!

“Paula, guess what? I won a prize and it is a new and amazing house.”

“WOW! What kind of house?”

“I don’t know because I won it.”

“OK then, can we pack our stuff and move in?”

Dad says, “OK, then let’s go.”

When we get there it looks like a very old and ugly house. In the inside it was even uglier. When my brother went into his room there was a broken window and big green moss on the brick walls and a chain gate and ghost on top of the chimney. And wooden steps that break when you step on them.

“How are we going to work this out?” I ask.

“I know we can get some building stuff from my work,” says Dad.

“What a good idea,” says Mum.

My brother says,” “What a good idea. What was it called again?”

“My Building Shop,” says Dad.

“Oh sorry,” says my brother.

“That’s all good,” says Dad.

“Come on, we will be last,” says Mum.

”OK,” I say.

When we got up the drive Mum was happy that Dad had won the prize because Mum wanted a new house and when we got to the house and it was amazing because someone fixed the house. Dad was so excited because he thought he had to fix it all up but he didn’t because the people that had lived in it fixed it up and then we were so happy.
